This article is for anyone interested in playing Galaga online free or finding download information. This game was released in 1981 by Namco and then released in the United States by Midway. It is the sequel to Galaxian which was just an expanded version of Space Invaders. These Arcade games are slow evolutions onto themselves because they are the same themes. Galaga is not a difficult game to find/play online for free.
You can find it through Google or Yahoo! and play it through your browser window. Be advised if you choose to download a rom of the game it is a form of internet piracy. Download at your own discretion. It was released on the X-Box Live Arcade July 26th, 2006 for 400 points (5 dollars). The order of the game series goes as follows.
Galaxian (1979)
Galaga (1981)
Gaplus (1984)
Finally Galaga ‘88 (1987)
The game differs from Galaxian in a few ways. 2 Player Shots can appear on the same screen same time. Bosses take two hits to kill and can dive to take out your ship.
The enemies fly into formation and also break off. In 2-player mode it is possible for 1-player to play an entire game before the 2-player if they are good enough.
Finally a more accurate explosion sound when your ship is destroyed.
If you are lucky you can find this cartridge at a flea market or online. Also to find a Classic Video Game Lounge to play Galaga and other Namco classics. If this article has inspired you to play this Arcade classic game have fun and good luck.
